NO NONSENSE RESTAURANT PR
Having worked at many of the top restaurant PR agencies in London since 2012, I founded Peanuts PR in 2019. I work with only a handful of restaurants at a time, which means I can work more closely with clients on each project – almost like having someone in-house as part of the team.
Peanuts PR is just me – when you work with me on a campaign I’ll be there from start to finish, working with you on every element to get it just right. Unlike bigger restaurant PR firms, I only work on a few things at a time, so you won’t ever be client number 37 on my priority list.
I take an honest approach – I won’t just tell you what you want to hear or try to extend your contract by suggesting you do a Valentine’s menu or some other naff PR hook.
I’m flexible – I’ve done everything from short four week launch campaigns to long-term rolling yearly contracts.
I’m also a journalist – I write food and travel features for the likes of BBC Good Food, National Geographic Traveller, CNN, The Evening Standard, The Independent, and London on the Inside so I know how to sell a story to editors.
I’ve worked with some amazing chefs and restaurants including Smoking Goat, Kiln, Ceviche, Andina, Casita Andina, Arbutus, Wild Honey, Polpo, Crate Brewery, Bao, Bubbledogs, Discount Suit Company, The Sun Tavern, The Blues Kitchen, and many more. If you'd like to see sample coverage for any of the below, please give me a shout.
A badly written press release is going to sink your chances of having anyone write about your restaurant before you’ve even begun. I like to write really good press releases. And that doesn't mean getting in as many naff adjectives as possible. Here’s some words you won’t see me ever use: scrumptious; delicious; delectable; decadent; secret hidden bar; iconic.
I’ve launched loads of successful restaurants in London over the last few years so I’ve got a pretty good idea of the dos and don’ts. I can help you put a successful launch strategy in place, including soft launch, exclusive press announcements, social media campaigns, and the right times to do them.
The main event. This is where I go out and sell your restaurant to print and digital media, bloggers, and social media stars. Depending on what kind of restaurant you are, certain publications will be more suited to you than others, so I will always create a target list specifically for you. If you’re a wine bar in Hackney for instance, getting in the Times (nice as that may seem) isn’t going to get you anywhere because absolutely no one in Hackney reads The Times.
You really can’t ignore social media in this day and age. Yes, there are some blaggers out there but I only work with a handful of the best influencers in London that actually yield results. I can also help with strategy for your own social media accounts.
PR and Marketing go hand in hand. Setting up competitions, local business drops, reader events, loyalty cards…. all these things can help put bums on seats. And I can help you do this.
I’m a professional journalist and copywriter, so if you need some slick copy for your website, business plan, or anything else, then I can do that too.
